Top 5 things to do in Glencoe this Father's Day

Unforgettable days out

Days out with dad

Glencoe is jam-packed with attractions and activities that will delight your dad this Father’s Day.  From sea safaris to sound therapy, there’s much more to Glencoe than mountains and massacres!  Here’s our top 5 things to do in Glencoe this Father’s Day:

Salty sea-dogs

Grab your dad and hop aboard Loch Linnhe Cruises where the super-friendly tour guide will sail you from Fort William to the mouth of Glencoe along Loch Linnhe.  During the cruise, you will be introduced to some of Scotland’s most wondrous wildlife and you’ll learn all about the area’s rich culture and history.  The evening cruises are a particular favourite where you can enjoy the scenery and the sunset (if you’re lucky!) whilst sampling a great selection of local beers and whisky.  Got the dog with you?  Fear not, four-legged friends are welcome onboard too.

Fishing fiends

Ballachulish is situated at the western end of Glencoe and enjoys not one, but two fishing lochs AND two fishing tackle shops! Therefore, if your dad is a keen angler, you’ve come to the right place.  Visit WHA Baits and/or Tools & Tackle for expert advice on the best fishing spots in the area.  You can also hire rods and buy the most suitable bait and lures for Loch Leven and Loch Linnhe, where you can expect to catch all sorts of fish, from cod and coalie to rays and wrasse!

Cruise Loch Linnhe
Clachaig Inn Music Session

Live music lover

If your dad loves nothing more than sipping a local drink and listening to live music, then a day or night out at the Clachaig Inn is the perfect Father’s Day treat.  Every Sunday, the Clachaig hosts live music sessions where as few as two or as many as twenty musicians come together and play!  This month there’ll also be live music on Saturday 3rd June (Mad Ferret) and Saturday 17th June (Zetor in the Kailyard).

The Clachaig also boasts over 400 Scottish whiskies, 150+ Scottish gins along with 30+ Scottish rums, 20+ Scottish vodkas and several Scottish liqueurs to complement their huge range of Scottish beer from independent craft breweries!

Golfing pros

If dad is obsessed with precision putting and perfecting his swing, a day pass to the award-winning Woodlands Golf Course is an absolute must!  This spectacular 9-hole golf course is surrounded by ancient woodlands, overlooks Loch Linnhe and even bagged the title of ‘best 9-hole golf course in Scotland’ AND was listed in the ‘top 50 9-hole course in the world’!

If golfing isn’t your dad’s thing, there’s also a neighbouring Activity Centre where you can hire e-bikes and segways or try your hand at archery or laser clay shooting!

Pampered papas

If your dad is in need of some serious rest and relaxation, we can highly recommend a trip to Highland Holistic in Duror, where your dad can enjoy a 90-minute full body massage with private sound bath.

This truly unique experience is guaranteed to leave him feeling relaxed with an improved sense of wellbeing.  The sound bath sends out healing vibrations, which will take him on a spiritual journey of discovery, love and peace.  Incredible!
