Winter at Woodlands Glencoe

The Perfect Winter Destination

When the mercury drops and the velvety, star-scattered sky above Scotland cloaks the country for up to sixteen hours a day, folk in these parts tend to separate into two distinct categories – those who want to hibernate under a cosy blanket with a good book and a hot toddy, and those who are poised to make the most of every second of daylight and hit the slopes at the first sniff of snow.

Luckily, Woodlands Glencoe caters for both!

The Winter Warmer

Picture the scene.  You’re luxuriating in the warmth of your RiverBed Wee Lodge or SeaBed Lookout wrapped up in a Woodlands robe and your fluffiest pair of socks.  You look out of the window at the breathtaking Highland landscape as you tuck into the complimentary breakfast hamper.  Snow starts to fall.  Life pretty much couldn’t get any better, right?! Well actually, yes it can!

Once you’re up and ready, you decide to pull on your winter woollies and take a walk or e-bike ride along the ancient treelined Woodlands Estate tracks before making the most of the complimentary access to the sauna and heated swimming pool at the nearby Isles of Glencoe Leisure Centre.

After sundown, you pop open a bottle of bubbly, submerge in the warmth of your private hot tub and stargaze through the frost tipped branches above. Bliss.

The Snowboard Superstar

The sun is up, the air is crisp and it’s time to hit the slopes!

Equidistant between Nevis Range Ski Centre (30 mins) and Glencoe Mountain Resort (20 mins), the Woodlands Estate is the ideal base for those on the hunt for some winter sports action, Scottish style! Whether you’re a nervous newbie or a powder-shredding pro, both resorts are suitable for all abilities and offer lessons, equipment hire, lift passes, refreshments, not to mention incredible views over the landscape.

The winter ski season runs from late December to early April, and we might be biased, but on a good day we reckon skiing in Scotland can rival any winter sports hotspot in the world!

Discover all of this and more this winter at Woodlands Glencoe. Even better, why not take advantage of our incredible autumn / winter promotion?
