We get it, you’ve just checked into your RiverBed or SeaBed luxury escape and the last thing you want to do is head straight back out for dinner. Luckily for you, we’ve teamed up with the brilliant Dan Leaver, chef at the Hebridean Larder, who has created a range of culinary options for Woodlands guests. Introducing Dan at the Hebridean Larder
Dan Leaver of the Hebridean Larder has over 20 years experience in professional kitchens. With humble beginnings as a kitchen porter in his local restaurant, Dan was so inspired by the chefs at Fishers on the Shore in Edinburgh that he left school as soon as he could and began training to be a chef at Telford College. He continued to work at Fishers throughout his studies, learning from some of Scotland’s best chefs.
When his parents relocated to the Isle of Eigg (Inner Hebrides) for work, Dan was in awe of the abundance of incredible west coast produce available to him. A chef’s paradise! Dan has worked on the west coast ever since. The Hebridean Larder was formed during Dan’s time on Eigg and his mantra is FRESH – LOCAL – INNOVATIVE!

The Woodlands ‘Supper Club’
Every second Saturday throughout the year, Dan takes over the Woodlands kitchen and delights guests at his pop-up supper club! The culinary offering is ALWAYS sumptuous, seasonal and skilfully prepared, and can be devoured within the cosy confines of the Clubhouse Restaurant OR in the seclusion of a RiverBed or SeaBed Luxury Lodge!

In-lodge fine dining
Not staying with us on Supper Club Saturday? Fear not! If you’re celebrating a special occasion (or just because you’re worth it), Dan offers a wonderful in-lodge fine dining package where he will prepare a bespoke meal to suit your dietary requirements and budget. All the skills, without the frills!
Dan has also created a fantastic range of gourmet ready meals, which you can book in advance right here. When you check-in, you’ll find the meal safely ensconced inside your refrigerator, ready to pop into the microwave at your convenience.
Dan’s passion for local, seasonal and DELICIOUS ingredients doesn’t stop when it comes to his gourmet ready meals. Here’s a little taster of what’s available:
- Handmade local crab and lobster tortellini with a bisque style creamy lobster sauce (£16, serves 2)
- Local venison tagine with tender chunks of local lamb and chickpeas stewed with tomato, apricot and blended spices served with a side of Moroccan style baked rice (£14.50, serves 2)
- Four cheese macaroni topped with parmesan and herb crust. Macaroni baked with mull cheddar, Gruyère and monetary jack béchamel sauce topped with a gratinated parmesan and herb crust with a side of roast garlic and herb sour dough (£12.50, serves 2)
