Elopements for two
Step away from the seating plan. No fuss, no fanfare, no stress! Just the utterly romantic simplicity of eloping in Glencoe and saying “I do” in one of the most breathtaking places on earth.
If you’re dreaming of exchanging vows beside a rushing river, in the heart of a heather-filled glen or hidden within ancient woodland, just the two of you, it’s entirely possible. Wild, dramatic and impossibly beautiful (yet wonderfully accessible), many of the most iconic ceremony spots are just minutes away or right here on the Woodlands Estate, meaning jaw-dropping scenery without the need for a challenging hike in wedding attire!
All you need is each other, a celebrant and two witnesses over the age of 16 (your photographer can even be one and we’re happy to help arrange another if needed). That’s it! Once you’ve officially tied the knot, head back to RiverBeds or SeaBeds Luxury Lodges and toast your newlywed status in your private hot tub.
Elopements (plus a few)

You can get ready, relax and stay close to your favourite people, while still enjoying your own space when you need it. After the ceremony, gather in the larger lodge around the spacious dining table for a relaxed post-wedding dinner or head out onto the terrace to toast the day under the open sky. Intimate and effortless.

Planning your Glencoe elopement

"Whatever your wedding size, most of our couples choose to say their vows out in the wild beauty of Glencoe, before returning to their hot tub lodge, the Clubhouse Bar or a beautifully styled marquee! There are also a number of stunning ceremony locations right here on the Woodlands Estate, so everything you need is close at hand".
The legal stuff!
If you’re dreaming of a dictionary definition elopement experience in Glencoe (just the two of you running off into the wilds), then you’ll be pleased to know that all that is required to become legally married in Scotland is a happy couple, a celebrant, a Marriage Schedule and two witnesses over the age of 16 (we can even supply witnesses if needs be).
Planning an elopement in Glencoe couldn’t be simpler, and the best part is you can get married wherever and whenever you want. Once you have booked your lodge, celebrant and any other suppliers you require, you’ll need to do the boring part – hello paperwork!
Fortunately, the legal paperwork is a piece of [wedding] cake!
You will need to each fill in a form called an M10 form AND a Witness and Celebrant form (if you are travelling from out-with the UK to elope in Scotland, you will also need to apply for a Marriage Visitor Visa).
Once completed, the forms can be sent to the Registry Office in Fort William alongside proof of ID and proof of address (you aren’t able to submit this paperwork until a minimum of twelve weeks before your big day). Once the Registry Office have this information they will prepare your Marriage Schedule (the document you and your two witnesses sign at your ceremony) for you to pick up prior to the wedding date. The Marriage Schedule can be collected up to one week before the ceremony.
Woodlands Glencoe is situated just twenty minutes from the Registry Office, so super convenient.
After the ceremony, the Marriage Schedule is then returned to the Registry Office where the team will prepare your Marriage Certificate and send it back to your home address. Voila!
