The eBikes are great fun and super easy to use. You get them the whole day so could make a proper day trip out of it. They recommend some routes for you or you can find your own way. We just went a short trip along the loch to the Holly Tree hotel for lunch, but would have gone further afield given time. The staff as ever were lovely and helpful.

Stayed in the Seabeds and took the e-bikes for a day. Wonderful day cycling around Loch Leven. Bikes were great - if you have not tried e-bikes, this is a super opportunity. Beautiful route around the Loch with fantastic views - good advice to go anti-clockwise! Good choice pf places for coffee / lunch in Kinlochleven.

Our guide Brian was so friendly and helpful during both activities. He made sure we were all properly set up and comfortable for our ride to Castle Stalker and back, and when I missed a turn off and rode a couple miles too far, he was happy to come retrieve my bike while my friends picked me up. The ride itself was absolutely stunning despite the periodic rain, and the e-bikes made the occasional hills manageable. The bike route is clearly marked and very well maintained, with stunning views throughout.

Absolutely brilliant!...We also hired the E-Bikes. Turbo power wow! We headed out to see Stalker Castle along the very well signposted and maintained cycle path - The Caledonian Way. Fantastic experiences, both very well organised, friendly staff and everything in working order.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. e-biking requires the same basic skills involved in cycling a normal bike. So we do not recommend hiring one if you cannot cycle a regular bike.

If you’re not bike-competent, why not try one of our Segway Tours? They are a thrilling and memorable way to explore the Estate.

It’s frustrating, we know! The minimum legal age for riding an e-bike is 14 and due to the size of the bike frames, a minimum height of 5ft 2 (157 cm) is required.

Luckily, Off Beat Bikes in Fort William do children’s regular bikes for hire. Which is a great alternative for families looking to hire bikes in the area.

We like to call the rain “Scottish Sunshine”. Here in the beautiful mountains, it rains almost every day!

All of our activities are all-weather, so we recommend dressing appropriately and getting stuck in. We promise that a bit of rain won’t stop you from having a really fun day out on your bike!

Yes! We’re country folk too, so completely understand not wanting to be on these windy roads on a bike.

Our favourite track runs straight from the Activity Centre and is off-road the whole way. There are a few road crossings, but you’ll enjoy peaceful bike/walker-only trails for miles. The Caledonia Way cycle track runs all the way to Oban (40 miles), so it’s unlikely you’ll run out of trail on your day of adventure. Better yet, it winds past some fantastic places to eat along the way!

The simple answer is yes. But, we don’t recommend it.

The trails into the valley of Glencoe are good until you get to the Clachaig Inn. Then, you’ll be cycling alongside the busy A82 to get further into the Glen. This is an ok option for those who are comfortable cycling alongside traffic.

We prefer heading down the Caledonia Way cycle track which is off-road trails and hugs the beautiful coastline the whole way. Winding through nature reserves, past rocky beaches and ancient floating castles, unlocking fantastic mountain and loch panoramas the whole way.

For safety reasons, we are unable to offer children’s seats or a trailer for E-bikes.

Of course! With your bike hire, you will get a helmet, map with suggested routes, waterproof pannier, bike lock, and puncture repair kit.

Yes! Please give us a call to arrange a multi-day hire.

Yes, we offer a great selection of Activities and Experiences gift vouchers.  You can see our range here.  These make the perfect gift for the little (or big!) adventurer in your life.
