These ridiculously romantic micro cabins are dotted along the riverbank in the heart of the Woodlands Estate. The river meanders down Beinn a’Bheithir (the mountain of the dragon!), which forms the impressive backdrop to the Woodlands Estate.
Seductive similarities
All twelve RiverBeds Luxury Wee Lodges offer several seductive similarities. First and foremost, the lodges were created with lovers in mind and offer the serenity of a meditative retreat.
We want your stay to be mightily memorable (for all the right reasons!) so each lodge boasts a private sunken hot tub, a spacious terrace, superfast WiFi, mood lighting and more luxury features than you could shake a stick at. Think sleek interiors, crisp white linen, fluffy towels and all the touches that elevate a Highland getaway from blah to YEEHA!
RiverBeds Luxury Wee Lodges are available for one-night stays and if you book direct, breakfast, prosecco and bathrobes are included. What’s more, your four-legged friends are very welcome to join you in our pet-friendly lodges with hot tubs.

RiverBeds Lower Lodges (5 – 12)

Lower RiverBeds are situated downstream and were the first lodges to be built on the Woodlands Estate. The lower lodges were strategically positioned within an established woodland and are now almost completely hidden beneath a canopy of trees. These lodges overhang the rumbling river and wouldn’t look out of place on the pages of a fairytale!
Ridiculously romantic and hidden from the world, ‘lower’ RiverBeds are ideal for those in search of an enchanting escape. Located near the honesty bar, reception and Activity Centre, ‘lower’ lodges are perfect for those looking for a hideaway, but with convenience just steps away.
RiverBeds Upper Lodges (1 – 4)
🔆 Best for seekers of solitude, stargazers & sun worshippers ✨
Upper RiverBeds are (as you may have guessed) situated further upstream and enjoy a secluded situation. Lodges 1 – 4 are the newest RiverBeds and as such are invested with lots of incremental improvements that we’ve learned about over the years. Some you’ll really notice, such as the in-glass privacy blinds within the front door and others, like the humidity control, just do their clever work in the background.
During the design process we decided to treat ‘upper’ guests to more interior and exterior space, so if you’re planning on having an extended getaway, we recommend staying in one of our ‘upper’ lodges so you can stretch out and make yourself at home. These beauties enjoy bigger beds, larger televisions, air conditioning and even contain dining tables, which is a real game changer as it gives a sheltered space to eat meals or enjoy a glass or two of prosecco when the good old fashioned Scottish weather closes in!
Upper lodges sit a little further back from the river and therefore don’t possess the same level of mature tree coverage (yet!) as their ‘lower’ counterparts; however, if you’re a sunbather or stargazer, you won’t mind this one bit!
Unfortunately, we can’t guarantee you will be allocated a specific lodge; however, if you would prefer either upper or lower, please do let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate your wishes.
