Tree planting in Glencoe – leave a legacy 🌴

You may have guessed by the name, but we love trees at Woodlands Glencoe, and we think it’s treemendous when guests and non-guests alike join our mission of sustainability by planting a tree somewhere on the Estate.

Why not create a lasting legacy by planting a tree right here in Glencoe? Whether you’re incorporating a tree-planting ceremony into your wedding celebrations, sprinkling a loved one’s ashes into the roots of a native tree or simply because you have an affinity with the area and want to be part of our green initiative, we can make it happen.

What’s more, every tree that is planted will feature on our interactive tree map (see below) and will support local ecosystems and future generations.

Celebrate your newlywed status, eco style!

If you’re planning an intimate elopement in Glencoe, you’re already doing your bit for the environment! Recent statistics show that the average wedding emits 14,500kg of CO2 and can produce more than 20kg of plastic waste! Why not save the planet even more (whilst also looking fabulous) and plant a tree together as part of your wedding ceremony? This earthy elopement adventure will not only up your eco-cred, it also represents growth, makes for a wonderful wedding-day memory and creates epic photo opportunities!

What’s involved?

A tree-planting ceremony is conducted by a trained member of our team and can be performed either during or after your wedding ceremony or as part of a vow renewal.

During your ceremony

If you’re staying with us at RiverBeds Luxury Wee Lodges or SeaBeds Luxury Lookouts, and are planning on getting married on the Woodlands Estate, a tree-planting ceremony can be incorporated into your wedding ceremony. It fits perfectly at the end of the ceremony after the signing of the Marriage Schedule.

After your wedding

With glorious Glencoe just a hop, skip and a jump away from Woodlands Glencoe, why not enjoy a wilderness ceremony in one of hundreds of extraordinary locations in the glen? Once you have signed the Marriage Schedule, you can pop along to the Woodlands Estate to plant your tree!

Our tree planting ceremonies on the Woodlands Estate allows groups to scatter ashes at the roots of a native sapling, creating a living tribute that will flourish for years to come. It’s a heartfelt (and eco-friendly) way to celebrate life, reconnect with nature, and leave behind something beautiful to remember a loved one.
