The tale of two Daniels
At Woodlands we live for romance, so you can imagine our delight when our guests become engaged during their time with us. Proposals on the Woodlands Estate are always special. From no fuss betrothals over breakfast to the grandest of gestures, we’ve seen more “I WILLS” than we can shake a diamond ring at! However, recently, we had an evening so unique that we just had to share the love story!
Picture this. Two men, both called Daniel Kelly, both booked on the same night, both planning to propose to their girlfriends. Yes, you read it right, two Daniels, two rings, one Woodlands Glencoe!
The reservation mix-up that wasn’t
It all started when our reservations team noticed something odd: two bookings for RiverBeds Luxury Wee Lodges. Same night, same lodge type, same name. Surely this was a double booking. Perhaps Daniel Kelly became so nervous about proposing, he accidentally booked twice? After a little investigation, we discovered there were indeed two different Daniel Kellys, both planning very different proposals.
Being self-proclaimed professionals in the art of romance, we knew we had to make this a night for the ages. Double Daniels, double the magic, and hopefully, double the yeses!!
Cue the proposals
We quickly went to work, plotting two distinctly epic proposals for each Daniel Kelly.
Daniel Kelly #1 was set for a pre-check-in proposal on the banks of Glorious Glencoe Lochan. Optimistic that his truelove, Lorna, would say YES, Daniel pre-booked the romance package with his reservation, which included a bottle of Prosecco on ice, luxury chocolates, a scattering of rose petals and a romance banner. Daniel had booked a RiverBeds Luxury Wee Lodge for the evening, and as luck would have it, a SeaBeds Luxury Lookout became available, so we seized the moment and upgraded the happy couple to our most luxurious accommodation and the Woodlands team got to work making their lodge as romantic as possible!
Meanwhile, across the Woodlands Estate, Daniel Kelly #2 was working on his own magical master plan. Daniel booked the Marry Me package, meaning that the Woodlands wonder team went ALL out with a balloons and rose petal set-up like no other! Upon check-in, we upgraded the delightful duo to our most luxuriously spacious property, Forest Corner, where Taylor walked in to be blown away by Daniel’s super romantic gesture.
So, two proposals down, two YESES, two thrilled couples and two Daniels feeling pretty good about their one-of-a-kind love stories.
