Sauna in Glencoe: A New Wellness Experience Has Arrived

Enjoy a slice of Nordic heaven in the Highlands

Discover a brand new sauna in Glencoe

Perched above the treetops with knockout views of Loch Linnhe and the Ardnamurchan hills, we’re thrilled to unveil the latest addition to the Woodlands Estate: the Woodlands Wilderness Sauna Experience.

Cranked up to a toasty 90°C and packed with Scandi-style goodness, this is your new favourite place to sweat in style.  This haven of hotness will open for bookings from 2nd June 2025 and will be available to both residents and non-residents. Open daily from 9am to 9pm, sessions cost £39.95 for one hour (for up to four people) and you can book your slot here.

A luxury sauna experience awaits!

Get ready for some serious relaxation with unbeatable views over the treetops, all the way to the loch and mountains beyond. You’ll be nice and cosy behind the privacy glass before tiptoeing across the non-slip decking to your very own icy plunge bath (if you’re feeling brave, that is!). Not quite up for a frosty dip? No problem; the outdoor rainforest shower is just as refreshing (and slightly less chilly).

When you’re done, flop into the lounging area for that all-important post-sauna sprawl, breathe in the fresh Highland air and help yourself to a glass of water.

Sauna with a little extra ahhh

We’ve added a few thoughtful touches to take your sauna experience to the next level! Slip out of your lodge robe, wrap yourself in a fluffy towel, and stretch out in comfort. If you want to fully unwind, grab the wooden sauna pillow, switch off and sink into deep relaxation.  Prefer to stay seated? Be sure to let the backrest support and gently warm your spine.

You’re also welcome to use our heated massage stone; smooth on one side for gentle exfoliation and contoured on the other to release tension and soothe tired muscles.

To create the ultimate relaxation ritual, add a few drops of our Woodlands-inspired essential oils to the water bucket and pour over the coals. Choose from calming lavender, refreshing eucalyptus, earthy birch or invigorating pine.

If you’re not staying at one of our luxury lodges, you can take hire towels & robes from reception so just pop by and collect them before your session. The oils, backrest, pillow and massage stone are all in the sauna for you to use at your leisure.

  • Improved cardiovascular health
  • Reduced risk of dementia
  • Better mood & stress reduction
  • Lower inflammation
  • Faster muscle recovery

This timeline opposite serves as a useful guide for balancing maximum health benefits with safety considerations during sauna sessions. Staying within the 15–30 minute window provides the most advantages with minimal risk.
