Over the past year, we’ve welcomed lots of new faces to our Dragon’s Circle family and we wanted to take a moment to say a very big thank you to every one of you. Your membership is about more than simply having somewhere to tee it up when you’re visiting Glencoe. By becoming a Dragon’s Circle member, you’re helping us look after something we care deeply about: the beautiful Woodlands Estate and the incredible natural environment that surrounds Woodlands Golf Course.
And, as it turns out, you’re also helping us grow a forest!
Your membership gives back
We LOVE the Woodlands Estate. We’re incredibly proud of the environment we’ve inherited, from the golf course and woodland to the wildlife and wider landscape.
We believe it’s our responsibility to protect this special place for future generations. That’s why we’re working towards becoming a net zero business and encouraging our team, local community, golfers and guests to develop an ever-greater appreciation for the environment around us.
That’s where the Dragon’s Circle members come into their own! Funds raised through the Dragon’s Circle are ring-fenced for conservation work across the estate, helping support nature restoration, wildlife and environmental projects.
But there’s something particularly special about every Dragon’s Circle membership! You get a tree! 🌳
For every Dragon’s Circle member, we plant a native Scottish tree in your honour. The trees are then recorded on our special Woodlands Estate tree planting map, meaning that next time you’re here, you can head out and see if you can find your very own tree.
It’s a lovely way to leave your mark on Woodlands and a good excuse to go for a wander after your round and beautiful to think that in a few years, you might be teeing off knowing there’s a tree nearby with your name on it!

This isn’t just something we’re planning for the future. Here’s our very own Isla, out on the Woodlands Estate last week, getting some of the latest Dragon’s Circle membership trees into the ground.
It’s fantastic to see the difference our Dragon’s Circle members are already making across the estate, one native tree at a time. You can see all the trees planted by Dragon’s Circle members so far on our tree map.
Next time you’re here for a round, keep your eyes peeled. Your tree will be somewhere out there! And when you find it, we’d love to see a photo of you with your tree! Use our special tree planting map to track it down. It’s a lovely reminder that your membership is helping to create something that will be enjoyed by golfers, wildlife and visitors to the estate for many years to come.
More than a golf membership
Inspired by the legendary peaks of Beinn a’ Bheithir (the Dragon’s Mountain) rising behind the course, the Dragon’s Circle was created for golfers who live 35+ miles from Woodlands Golf Course and don’t have a local property.
It’s our way of bringing together golfers who love returning to Glencoe and want a more meaningful connection with the course and the estate. And, of course, there’s still plenty of golf involved too! As a Dragon’s Circle member, you can play as often as you like whenever you’re visiting the area, with complimentary club hire included.
So whether you’re planning a weekend in Glencoe, returning for your annual Highland adventure or simply passing through, your clubs are waiting for you.
