On the 8th of March, the creator of Woodlands, Laurence Young, donned his best suit and headed down to Glasgow to represent Woodlands at the Federation of Small Businesses Awards Ceremony! This special ceremony, hosted by the brilliant David Sharpe, was held at the Voco Grand Central this year. The ceremony is a true celebration of the wider contribution smaller businesses make to communities across Scotland.
The Sustainability Award
We were thrilled to be recognised for our efforts and commitment to sustainability, and delighted to be shortlisted for the prestigious Sustainability Award. It’s always an exciting moment when you get recognised for something that you believe in. We’re proud to have previously won the ‘Small Business of the Year’ and ‘Innovation’ awards, and it was humbling when David asked Laurence to stand up to receive a standing ovation for winning ‘Overall Small Business’ in 2022!
Laurence said: “We love the FSB as it’s active and relevant organisation with a great collection of practical, working people. Everyone in the room was a winner”. This year, however, it was not meant to be for Woodlands as we lost out to the inspiring MiAlgae whose aim is to eliminate the reliance on wild caught fish as a source of Omega-3 by harnessing the potential of microalgae as a sustainable and rich alternative source. Well-deserved and huge congratulations to all who attended!
