Our top picks for cosy things to do in Glencoe

Nothing beats autumn in Glencoe!  The mountains throw on their fiery coats, the air gets that gorgeous nip and suddenly all you want to do is eat carbs and sip something warming. Around here, we like to refer to it as the Great Scottish Snuggle-Down and we’ve put together our top cosy picks to help you make the most of it!  Although, let’s face it, the most important thing to get right is the perfect cosy accommodation.

RiverBeds Luxury Wee Lodges, SeaBeds Luxury Lookouts and Forest Corner Luxury Hideaway are waiting! Think hot tubs under starry skies, luxury touches, mood lighting and views that’ll make you swoon.

So now you’ve got the accommodation sorted, read on to discover our top five cosy things to do during your stay with us this autumn.

Cosy dinner dates

We reckon autumn is basically an excuse to eat your way through the season. Luckily, Glencoe has some cracking spots for date nights and foodie adventures.

Kitchen Food Truck @ Woodlands Estate: Think seafood boils made for sharing, comforting casseroles and a side of romance. You can wrap up and enjoy an alfresco dinner and smell the gorgeous aroma wafting from the Food Truck or cosy up in the Clubhouse with your dinner by the fire.

The Old Inn:  Less than fifteen minutes away, this fairy-lit barn is home to some of the juiciest steaks you’ll ever taste (seriously, we’re still dreaming about them). Add in a giant wood-burning stove and staff who make you feel like family, and you’ve got all the autumn vibes.

Moss Glencoe: A bijoux bistro right in the heart of Glencoe village. The chef-owner whips up imaginative dishes using foraged and seasonal goodies so it’s basically autumn on a plate. Book ahead; it’s a popular wee spot.

Enjoy a picnic at Glencoe Lochan

Nothing says autumn like crunching leaves underfoot and unwrapping something tasty mid-walk. Just five minutes away, Glencoe Lochan is the perfect spot for a bracing stroll and a picnic with views that look too good to be real.

Pro tip: stop at Stiff Peaks in Ballachulish on your way. Lyndsey’s Cullen Skink (smoky, creamy fish soup) is legendary and so comforting you might forget you’re outdoors in November.

A couple enjoys one of the many wonderful walks in Glencoe.
A fire pit crackles on the terrace of RiverBeds Luxury Wee Lodges at Woodlands Glencoe.

Toasty nights with s’mores

Crisp nights?  Sorted. Our Cosagach Kit (that’s Gaelic for ‘cosy’!) has everything you need to toast marshmallows and make s’mores right at your lodge. Pre-order and it’ll magically appear before you arrive. Grab a blanket, light the fire, gaze at the stars and get sticky-fingered.  Autumn perfection!

Indulge in an autumn ritual

Think of this as pressing the reset button for your body and soul. At Woodlands Wellness, you can:

💆 Treat yourself to a dreamy massage (40 or 90 minutes).
🔥 Sweat it out in the Wilderness Sauna, complete with a Finnish sauna, icy plunge pool and bucket showers if you’re feeling brave.

By the end, you’ll feel so blissed out you’ll forget what day it is.

Whisky & live music sessions

Cosy nights aren’t complete without a wee dram and some live tunes.  Keep your eyes peeled on the following venues socials to see who’s playing:

Boots Bar at the Clachaig Inn is just ten minutes away and has everything: crackling fires, regular traditional Scottish music sessions and a whisky list longer than your arm.

Over at The Laroch, you’ll find live bands and food cooked by a Michelin Star chef (yes, really).

Keep your eyes peeled for gigs at Ballachulish Village Hall too.  Events here are small, friendly and great fun.
