One of the Most Perfect Golf Getaways in Scotland

Even if you don't play golf!

Stay & Play at Woodlands Glencoe

One of the best things about staying at Woodlands Glencoe is that you can make your stay exactly what you want it to be!  For many of our guests, that means doing absolutely nothing at all. A leisurely morning coffee on your private terrace or perhaps an evening soaking in the hot tub with a glass of something chilled; however, if you’re the type who likes a little more action on your getaway, this is where Woodlands Glencoe really comes into its own, especially if you’re a golfing enthusiast!

A course worth going the extra mile for

Situated at the northern end of Glencoe, we get that we’re quite a hike away, but if you’re into your golf, we reckon it’s worth the extra effort getting here! Formerly known as the Dragon’s Tooth, Woodlands Golf Course is a wondrous West Highland parkland course enjoying one of the most spectacular settings in Scottish golf. With dramatic mountain scenery, views across Loch Linnhe and fairways woven naturally through the Woodlands Estate, it’s a world away from your typical round of golf.

It’s challenging enough to keep experienced golfers on their toes, while remaining enjoyable for players of all abilities.  Throughout the course, players can expect rolling fairways, undulating greens, natural elevation changes, water features and strategically positioned bunkers, all framed by rugged mountains, ancient woodland and lochside views. Every hole feels different, and every round offers something new.

Even if your scorecard isn’t quite tournament-winning material, the scenery alone makes it a round to remember!

We know it’s crazy, but not everyone loves golf!

If you’re travelling with someone whose enthusiasm for golf doesn’t quite match your own? Fear not!  While you’re busy trying to conquer the course, your travelling companion can spend the day doing whatever makes them happiest.

Perhaps that’s a visit to Woodlands Wellness, where they can indulge in luxurious massages, rejuvenating facials and beauty treatments. Or maybe they’ll head to the Wilderness Sauna to enjoy an out-of-this-world sauna experience complete with icy plunge bath and rainforest shower.

If relaxation isn’t their thing, there’s plenty more to keep them entertained. The Woodlands Activity Centre offers archery lessons, e-bike hire, Segway tours and even axe throwing sessions!

Or they could simply claim a sunny spot on the terrace at the Clubhouse Bar and spend the afternoon nursing a crisp pint of cider while enjoying the spectacular views. We certainly wouldn’t blame them!!

Why not stay & play to WIN?!

The Woodlands Golf Open takes place on Sunday 2nd August 2026 and is open to golfers of all ages and abilities. Even better, entry is completely free for Woodlands members and guests staying on the estate.  And what’s at stake? Not only the coveted Woodlands Golf Open trophy, but also a year’s free golf for the winner!

So, whether you’re playing to win or simply looking for an unforgettable golfing experience in one of Scotland’s most beautiful settings, we’d love to see you on the tee.  You can sign up right here and join us for a fantastic day of golf, good company and Highland hospitality.
