Father's Day Gifting Inspiration from the Woodlands Estate

Anything but socks!

Father’s Day Gift Ideas from the Woodlands Estate

Father’s Day is just around the corner and, let’s be honest, the main man in your life probably doesn’t need another gadget or pair of socks.  Why not gift him an unforgettable experience that you can enjoy together?  We’ve got plenty of ideas right here on the Woodlands Estate, so we thought we would compile this handy Father’s Day gifting guide to give you a little inspiration. So, if he’s into great food, outdoor adventures, relaxation or a bit of healthy competition, here’s a few options to make his day one to remember.

A legendary brunch & axe throwing

Kitchen Food Truck serves breakfast and brunch from 9am – 12pm every day (except Mondays), making it the perfect spot to kick off the day. If Dad has a Viking appetite, treat him to the Big Scottie, a proper brunch that’s guaranteed to set him up for whatever comes next!  And speaking of what comes next, why not continue the Viking theme and channel your inner Vikings with an axe throwing session? As the newest addition to our Activity Centre, axe throwing has quickly become one of our most popular experiences, with visitors (18+) loving the challenge. It’s fun, surprisingly addictive and the perfect activity for a little friendly family competition!

Not so into axe throwing?  The Activity Centre also offers archery lessons, segway tours & e-bike hire, so plenty to choose from.

Walk & Wilderness Sauna

If he prefers fresh air and big views, why not spend the day exploring the hills behind the Woodlands Estate?  The forestry tracks above Woodlands reward you with spectacular scenery across Loch Linnhe and the surrounding mountains, making them ideal for stretching the legs and spending some quality time together.

Afterwards, reward yourselves with a session in our Wilderness Sauna complete with plunge pool and a rainforest shower for cooling down. Perched on a hillock within the estate and overlooking Loch Linnhe, it’s a chance to slow down, switch off and enjoy a little well-earned relaxation after your adventure.

Explore the local area by e-bike

For dads who love being outdoors, our e-bike hire opens up some of the most scenic routes in the area.

One of our favourite day trips is the journey to Port Appin, following a largely off-road route through beautiful Highland scenery. With electric assistance doing most of the hard work, you’ll have more time to enjoy the views and less time worrying about the hills! Make a day of it by stopping for lunch somewhere lovely along the way (highly recommend the Pierhouse) before cruising back to the Woodlands Estate.

Take on dad on the fairways

Think you’ve finally got what it takes to beat him?! Father’s Day is the perfect excuse for a round of golf together. Whether you’re both seasoned golfers or simply enjoy a relaxed game, a little family rivalry always adds to the fun!

Just don’t be too surprised if he still manages to come out on top!

A gift for dad (and maybe one for you too)

If you’re looking for a Father’s Day gift from the kids, why not make it something you can enjoy together?

A couples massage is a thoughtful way to help him unwind while giving yourself a little treat too (and why not!). After all, sharing an experience is far more memorable than going it alone.

Dinner & cocktails

Round off the day with a relaxed evening at the Clubhouse Bar. Whether it’s a celebratory meal, his favourite cocktail or simply the chance to sit back and enjoy good food and great company, it’s the perfect way to end a Father’s Day well spent.

Not sure what he’d choose?

The good news is, you don’t have to decide! Our gift vouchers can be used across a range of experiences at Woodlands Estate, from activities and dining to wellness treatments and outdoor adventures. So if you’re stuck for ideas, let him choose his perfect day out himself.
