Top 10 Questions Asked Before a Woodlands Luxury Lodge Stay (Answered!)

A quick snapshot of our most frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about your luxury lodge stay

So, you’ve booked (or are about to book) a blissful getaway to Woodlands Glencoe? Excellent choice! Before you swap your inbox for a glass of bubbly and panoramic views, let’s answer some of the most commonly asked questions our soon-to-be guests have.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 4pm and check-out is by 10am, but we get it, sometimes you just need one more hour to sip coffee on the deck, soak in your private hot tub or pretend reality doesn’t exist for a little longer!  That’s why we offer an earlier check-in option (from 3pm) or a leisurely late check-out (until 11am) for just £14.95. Treat yourself, you’re on holiday, after all!

What activities are available nearby?

If your own private hot tub doesn’t offer enough zen time, our on-site Wellness Studio offers massage, reiki, reflexology and more.  Alternatively, if you’re after a little more action, our lodges are nestled throughout the Woodlands Estate, home to “the best 9-hole golf course in Scotland” and Woodlands Activity Centre, where you can hire e-bikes, enjoy Segway tours or try your hand at archery.

For the adventurers, you can access mountain tracks directly from the estate, perfect for walking and hiking. Beyond the estate, Glencoe is an outdoor lover’s paradise, with world-class walking, biking, open-water swimming, kayaking and even skiing at Glencoe Mountain Resort or Nevis Range!

What dining options are available?

There are so many incredible restaurants within a 15-minute drive from Woodlands Glencoe, but if you’re not in the mood for venturing off the estate, Kitchen Food Truck serves breakfast, brunch and dinner every day.  Kitchen serves locally sourced and delicious dishes that you can enjoy back at your lodge or on the terrace overlooking the loch. If the weather isn’t playing nice, you can cosy up inside the clubhouse restaurant by the fire. Remember to pre-order the Food Truck’s DIVINE Shellfish Boil for two with at least three day’s advance notice.

What is included in my stay?

You can rest assured that your stay includes ALL the luxury touches! Each lodge comes with:

✔️ A coffee machine for proper coffee
✔️ Luxury bed linen & fluffy towels
✔️ Lotions and potions to keep you pampered
✔️ A TV for chill-out time
✔️ A sunken hot tub (of course!)
✔️ A river or loch view
✔️ An outdoor table & chairs
✔️ Cutlery, crockery, heating, toilets & showers

Most stays also include a breakfast basket delivery each morning, Prosecco and bathrobes (some deals may not include these so do check your booking for details). Need help choosing your perfect lodge? See the differences between lodge types here.

Is there WiFi and mobile reception?

Yes, we have good WiFi, and yes, you can stay connected if you really want to. Although we highly recommend a digital detox where you can switch off, unwind and let nature be your notification system (the only alerts you’ll get here are sunset / sunrise views and birdsong).

What is the best way to get to the resort?

We’re just a 2-hour drive from Glasgow, and the journey takes you through some of the most breathtaking landscapes in Scotland.  Don’t drive? No worries! Check out this blog for all the different transport options to get here.

Are children allowed?

The Woodlands Estate is VERY child-friendly, and kids absolutely love the Activity Centre, the hot tubs and the Fairy Woods, where they can roam happily and safely; however, here’s what you need to know about our lodges:

RiverBeds Luxury Wee Lodges are designed for two only.

SeaBeds Luxury Lookouts were created with romance in mind, but they include a king-size bed AND a fold-out double sofa bed, so children can join you, but things might be a bit tight.

The Home at Forest Corner is our most spacious accommodation, with two separate bedrooms and extra space for a fold-down bed, making it ideal for larger families.

What is the cancellation and refund policy?

If you book directly, you can choose between:

 ✨ A better-value, non-refundable rate (completely non-refundable)

🌿  A flexible rate, allowing cancellations up to 14 days before your stay

We highly recommend carrying travel insurance, as we do not offer refunds beyond the cancellation period. We’re a small family business in a remote location, meaning last-minute cancellations make it difficult for us to rebook lodges.

Are dogs allowed?

Dogs LOVE Woodlands! We even roll out the red carpet for your four-legged friends. They’ll receive a special dog hamper with the following:

🐕 Treats
🦴 A dog bowl
🫧 A towel
🐾 Poo bags

Dog stays are just £50 so bring along your pup (or pups as the £50 fee covers more than one dog) for some tail-wagging adventures! Please remember that not all guests are as excited about pets as we are so let’s give others space and be on our best behaviour at all times!

Are there any juicy deals or promotions?

Looking for the best deal on a luxury lodge stay? Look no further, because we’ll ALWAYS beat any third-party rates! Just give us a call or send us a message, and we’ll make sure you get the best price possible.

While summer is our peak season (and deals take a little holiday of their own), from autumn to spring we roll out some incredible offers on overnight stays. Want to be the first to know about them?
