Scottish skiing holidays at Woodlands Glencoe

A winter wonderland awaits

Scottish skiing holidays

Have you ever considered a Scottish skiing holiday, rather than jetting off to the Alps?  When the mercury drops and the velvety, star-scattered sky above Scotland cloaks the country for up to sixteen hours a day, folk in these parts tend to separate into two distinct categories – those who want to hibernate under a cosy blanket with a good book and a hot toddy, and those who are poised to make the most of every second of daylight and hit the slopes at the first sniff of snow.

If you fall into the latter category, a Scottish skiing holiday could be exactly what you need in your life, because when the weather behaves itself, the Scottish mountains are the place to be.

The Scottish shredding superstar

The sun is up, the air is crisp and it’s time to hit the slopes!

Equidistant between Nevis Range Ski Centre (30 mins) and Glencoe Mountain Resort (20 mins), the Woodlands Estate is the ideal base for those on the hunt for some skiing action, Scottish style! Whether you’re a nervous newbie or a powder-shredding pro, both Scottish skiing resorts are suitable for all abilities and offer lessons, equipment hire, lift passes, refreshments, not to mention incredible views over the landscape.

The winter ski season in Scotland runs from late November to early April, and we might be biased, but on a good day we reckon skiing in Scotland can rival any winter sports hotspot in the world!

If the prospect of standing vertically on something as slippery as snow doesn’t really appeal, how about a spot of sledging?  Sledging is not purely the reserve of children. It’s a fantastic way to spend a morning and Glencoe Mountain Resort has its very own sledging slope.  Simply buy a chairlift ticket, grab a sledge (provided) and GO!  No skills required for massive amounts of fun.

If we still haven’t convinced you, the mulled wine, hot chocolate and food served up at the mountain cafes – White Corries Cafe and Plateau – are excellent!

Discover all of this and more this winter at Woodlands Glencoe.  Even better, why not take advantage of our incredible autumn / winter promotion where you can enjoy a two-night stay in a luxury lodge with steamy bubbling hot tub from just £174 per night.

Après ski

Picture the scene.  You’ve been shredding the snow all day and you return to the warmth and luxury of your RiverBed Wee Lodge or SeaBed Lookout.  You wrap up in a Woodlands robe and your fluffiest pair of socks.  You look out of the window at the breathtaking Highland landscape and the snow starts to fall.  Life pretty much couldn’t get any better, right?! Well actually, yes it can!  Why not light the fire pit and toast some marshmallows beneath the glittering winter sky?

Furthermore, you can enjoy complimentary access to the sauna and heated swimming pool at the nearby Isles of Glencoe Leisure Centre or pop a bottle of bubbly, submerge in the warmth of your private hot tub and stargaze through the frost tipped branches above. Bliss.
