Wedding suppliers for the perfect Glencoe elopement

Local elopement suppliers & the legal stuff

Planning your Glencoe elopement

If you’re dreaming of a dictionary definition elopement experience in Glencoe (just the two of you running off into the wilds), then you’ll be pleased to know that all that is required to become legally married in Scotland is a happy couple, a celebrant, a Marriage Schedule and two witnesses over the age of 16 (we can even supply witnesses if needs be).

Planning an elopement in Glencoe couldn’t be simpler, and the best part is you can get married wherever and whenever you want.  Once you have booked your lodge, celebrant and any other suppliers you require, you’ll need to do the boring part – hello paperwork!

Fortunately, the legal paperwork for elopers is a piece of [wedding] cake!

You will need to each fill in a form called an M10 form AND a Witness and Celebrant form (if couples are travelling from out-with the UK to elope in Scotland, they will also need to apply for a Marriage Visitor Visa).

Once completed, the forms can be sent to the Registry Office in Fort William alongside proof of ID and proof of address (you aren’t able to submit this paperwork until a minimum of twelve weeks before your big day).  Once the Registry Office have this information they will prepare your Marriage Schedule (the sheet you and your two witnesses sign at your ceremony) for you to pick up prior to the wedding date.  The Marriage Schedule can be collected up to one week before the ceremony.

RiverBeds and SeaBeds Luxury Lodges are located just twenty minutes from the Registry Office, so super convenient.

After the ceremony, the Marriage Schedule is then returned to the Registry Office where they will prepare your Marriage Certificate and send it back to your home address.  Voila!
